About Walt Gray
Currently working as The Eagle 96.9 morning show host Monday-Friday, 5:30a-10:00a, Walt is originally from Rhode Island and began his career there in radio news at WERI AM/FM.
In addition to his radio career, Walt spent a great deal of time in television where his stops included WCWB-TV in Macon, Georgia, WINK-TV in Ft. Myers, Florida and WCIX-TV (now WFOR-TV) in Miami. Walt also worked at KCRA-TV in Sacramento and became one of Northern California’s most notable sports anchors and news anchors over a career span of 25 years. In 2000, Walt won an Emmy award for specialized reporting on KCRA-TV.
Walt’s favorite moments over the years include playing college basketball in New Hampshire and singing “Barbara Ann” live with the Beach Boys and “My Girl” with the Drifters.
One of Walt’s passions off the set is his annual motorcycle ride. The Walt Gray Ride for Kids has become one of the most popular motorcycle based charities in California.
